FED: Rudd has questions to answer about Burke dealings

Opposition Leader BRENDAN NELSON says KEVIN RUDD must release emails his office exchanged
with disgraced former West Australian premier BRIAN BURKE.

Mr RUDD'S office has reportedly admitted a member of the prime minister's staff sent
emails to Mr BURKE .. while Mr RUDD was opposition foreign affairs spokesman.

News Limited says the emails .. dating back to 2005 .. were aimed at getting Mr BURKE
to help lift Mr RUDD'S profile inside the Labor Party .. especially in Western Australia.

The report raises the question of whether Mr RUDD was totally candid about his relationship
with Mr BURKE when the issue came up last year.

Dr NELSON has told the Nine Network Mr RUDD needs to release the emails so Australia
can actually get a clear idea of what actually happened.
