A suspect in 14 North Side residential burglaries in which$50,000 worth of valuables was taken was arrested Wednesday by threepolicemen who seized him after he left an apartment with two bags ofgoods.
Police said Tony Perez, 18, of 2433 N. Sawyer, was spottedentering an apartment at 2412 W. Bryn Mawr by Officers MichaelKuehlman, Thomas Hanfelman and Dennis Shaw, who were assigned toinvestigate the burglaries.
Sgt. Ralph Chiczewski said Perez spent 40 minutes ransacking theapartment before leaving with two garbage bags containing jewelry, aVCR and other electronic equipment, cameras and clothing, with avalue of $5,000.
